BOOKING TERMS AND CONDITIONS

As I'm always aiming to bring you the best classes and experience, it means there are some things in place protect this for everyone.

Classes are bookable 6 months in advance of the class date. Please be sure that you can make the date and time of the class before booking giving yourself enough travel time. Should you like to find out what options are available past the 6 months availability for a special occasion or group booking for example, do get in touch and I'll see what we can arrange.

All bookings must be paid for at the point of booking and are only valid when in receipt of payment confirmation.

There are options when it comes to paying and booking your course, you can:

  • sign up and pay with a card via this online portal - quick and easy although if you are happy to pay by bank transfer, it means Scottish Silverworks receives the full balance, every little helps me continue providing the classes and the environment I work hard to create.

  • sign up to hold your space and choose to pay via bank transfer by selecting 'pay in person'. The full details are given to you through the site, no waiting around for emails. In this case, your booking will be held for 3 days while the payment method is arranged and received.

If you would prefer to book a class/workshop by bypassing the website sign-up and giving your name, address and number alternatively this is possible and payment can be accepted by cash or bank transfer. Please get in touch directly via ScottishSilverworks@gmail.com and this can be arranged, but note there are no guarantees your preferred date will be available by the time you have gone through this process and payment is received. Emails take time for me to process and since there is online booking available, these are the quickest ways of booking and a class could fill up before I have even seen your email for which I have no control.

CANCELLATIONS / SWAPS

Following receipt of booking confirmation, cancellation is not possible. Instead rescheduling is available, once, and 8 weeks in advance of the booked date.

A reschedule is valid on classes/ workshops up to 6 months from the original booked course date. You may upgrade and pay the difference for an alternative class should you so wish.

If you wish to request a reschedule within a shorter term than 60 days, it will be only considered if someone else takes your original place(s). Scottish Silverworks or its proprietor is not contractually bound to finding your replacement, any help with this is as a goodwill gesture. Please email ScottishSilverworks@gmail.com to discuss any rescheduling needs within the 8 weeks before booking.

No reductions or refunds can be made in respect of late arrival, early departure or absence during any part of your booking.

In the unlikely event I have to cancel a class/workshop you will be able to choose an alternative date available within 6 months where possible. I will do my best to accommodate your preferred date. Unfortunately, Scottish Silverworks cannot accept responsibility for wasted travel costs or related losses in the event of having to cancel a class/workshop.

USING ALTERNATIVE/ PURCHASING ADDITIONAL METAL

All silver/base metal materials and tools for classes are supplied by Scottish Silverworks. Some classes offer purchasable options on the day for more complex pieces, for example, gemstones and extra charms. Packaging is also available if you plan to gift your handmade jewellery. Bring a form of payment (cash, card, or bank transfer).

Should you wish to work in other precious metals in any of our block workshops, with some forward planning I can source these for you at a fair price or suggest some suppliers from whom you may be able to purchase materials. Reserve your own metal for block/freestyle workshops but do get in touch with me in advance if you wish to work with your own so we can discuss what is realistically workable.

For classes where the bookable age is 16+, under 18's must be accompanied by a participating adult.

SAFETY AND INSURANCE

It is strongly recommended that all participants wear closed-toed shoes, tie back long hair and avoid loose-fitting clothing items, especially arms for safety reasons.

While I strive for inclusivity, for jewelry making, proficiency in using hands and good eyesight is necessary. The process demands sustained concentration and the ability to follow instructions. If you have any impairments that may impact your participation, please contact the studio before booking. We'll make every effort to find a suitable class or make arrangements.

Whilst every effort is made to ensure your safety such as correct tuition and safety equipment provision the participant acknowledges and understands that there are inherent dangers associated with jewellery making, soldering, and other related activities, and that serious personal injuries and property damage, including (but not limited to) physical effort, cuts, burns, and/or inhalation of hazardous substances may occur from participation in such activities and participation is at your own risk.

Anyone suspected of being under the influence of drugs or alcohol will not be allowed to attend and will not receive a refund or exchange. Scottish Silverworks reserves the right to withdraw any person whose conduct is deemed detrimental, or anti-social without refund or exchange. Scottish Silverworks reserves the right to deny access or to remove any person from a class at Scottish Silverworks discretion based on our assessment of an individual’s potential risk of injury.

Scottish Silverworks does not offer customers insurance and as such recommends that workshop participants take out their own insurance to cover any cancellation costs.

Thank you for your understanding and agreement of these terms, if you have any queries about them please do not hesitate to get in touch.
