At Scottish Silverworks, our Couples Bespoke Ring Experience is a beautiful way to create a unique and personalised symbol of love. For this experience your options go beyond silver and include all precious metals—yellow, rose, or white 9 or 18 carat gold, platinum, and palladium. Let us help you create a memorable and meaningful experience for your lives together. WHAT IS THE PROCESS? Initially, get in touch to arrange a consultation to take place in person or online, lasting around 45 minutes to one hour. During this, we will collaborate on your preferred designs, all while keeping your budget in mind and covering the pro’s and con’s of the different making options. We will determine ring sizes and quote for your specific rings. At this stage, you will lock in dates for your crafting day and make the deposit payment for the rings to proceed with the custom ring creation. You’ll then visit the workshop for a full day of crafting your bespoke rings . Choose to make each other's or your own! During this immersive session, you'll learn to make every part of your rings from the raw materials using all the expert tools with a delicious lunch included. The process continues as you work on joining the ends to form the eternal circle lead by your expert jeweller. You’ll prepare your rings for any stone setting or engraving which you may have selected. As the day draws to a close, you'll leave the rings with Scottish Silverworks for these final touches. If you've chosen a classic plain band, you'll instead polish it ready for hallmarking. A few weeks later, your completed rings will be ready for collection. You can visit our studio once again where your rings took shape, or you can opt to have them safely delivered to you. WHAT IS PROVIDED? The material costs for your specific rings are separate from and in addition to the workshop price and are priced on consultation (POC). Factors such as making method, finger size, metal type, band profile, ring style, embellishments, and engraving will all influence the final cost. Costs are competitively comparable and higher in quality to high-street mass-produced jewellery. For instance, to craft a handformed 9 carat yellow gold ring, 2mm wide, 1.8mm depth (heavy, lifetime quality) in size L, starts around £450, and a similar 4mm band in size S starts around £650. Alternatively, if you would like to reduce this cost by £100-200, you can opt to create silver models that are cast in your chosen metal.
