All the details...

Discover how to harness the natural allure of gemstones in this workshop. Have you done a couple of classes and now ready to take things further? Or maybe you've been making for a while and want to experience how you can embelish your peices with gorgeous colour! WHAT DOES THE CLASS INVOLVE? Across the transformative morning/afternoon, you’ll learn how to create a lustrous silver setting for a smooth and sleek cabochon stone. Under the expert tutelage of Gurveen you will use hammers, pliers and a soldering torch to shape and contour your silver ring and setting to clutch your chosen gemstone. You will have a choice of stones in various sizes available on the day or we can discuss bringing your own if you have something more meaningful in mind (please get in touch directly to do so). This class is perfect to elevate your basics in cutting, joining and soldering. You'll learn setting techniques by doing. We’ll help you tap into your creativity so you can leave with new skills and a statement ring glinting on your finger. We provide you with all the tools, materials and instruction in our light-filled and equipt studio in Livingston so you can focus on the joy of making. No experience needed although you may feel and see the benefit of having done an intermediate class, just patience and a fairly steady hand. Places are limited to 4 to maintain an intimate and focused environment, however, do get in touch if you would like a larger party in one class and we can do our best to accommodate you! OTHER BITS TO NOTE: Attendees must be over the age of 18 years old. Good hand-eye coordination is important as is reasonable hand dexterity. The space is currently not wheelchair accessible but we are working on this, please be in touch directly if you would like to discuss access. What to wear: Closed-toe shoes are essential. Comfortable clothing is advised and if you need glasses and something to hold your hair back, please bring them! Bringing an apron is optional but can be good to protect clothing.
