All the details...

Join Scottish Silverworks for our easy to intermediate level statement ring class and take your jewellery making skills further with some specific and more tricky techniques. Delve into the processes of wide ring making in this morning/ afternoon/ evening workshop. In just 2 - 2 1/2 hours, you’ll learn how to transform 100% recycled silver wire into a chunky, customised band just for you or maybe as a gift? WHAT DOES THE CLASS INVOLVE? Using a soldering torch, callipers, pliers, hammers and files, your tutor will guide you through forming this precious metal into a ring that’s uniquely yours. This is the perfect class for beginners who relish a creative challenge or simply want something that no one else has. You’ll learn the foundations of measuring, shaping, forming and joining metals to create a modern heirloom right before your eyes. We provide you with all the tools, materials and instruction in our light-filled studio in Livingston so you can focus on the joy of creative exploration and learning. No experience needed, although you may like to do an ‘easy’ class for confidence, and otherwise just patience and a somewhat steady hand. OTHER THINGS TO NOTE: Places are limited to 4 to maintain an intimate and focused environment, however, do get in touch if you would like a larger party in one class and we can do our best to accommodate you! Usually, a class is around 2 hours, but we have the chance to run over a little if needed as we'd much rather you be relaxed when doing complex work, do let us know at the beginning however if you are working to a timeframe. Attendees must be over the age of 18 years old for this one, we have hazards of sharp and hot tools in this class. Good hand-eye coordination is important as is reasonable hand dexterity. The space is currently not wheelchair accessible but we are working on this, please be in touch directly if you would like to discuss access.
