Scottish Silverworks roots start with one Scottish designer/maker, Gurveen, and intertwine passion, craftsmanship, and a profound love for working with precious metal and gemstones. With a private studio in a quiet part of Livingston, on the outskirts of Edinburgh, you can come and enjoy a class or workshop with ease of travel and lots of activities nearby if you want to make a day of it.

Having fallen into jewellery making over 10 years ago from a short course, just like these, passing on the knowledge of the art has always been an essential goal.

Immersing myself in the world of fine jewellery design, creation and gemstones, I've garnered expertise, won prestigious design awards, and worked with renowned British jewellers. Through Scottish Silverworks, I bring this wealth of experience to guide you through the spectrum of jewellery fabrication – from easy and fun creations to more intricate and complex designs.

 

I firmly believe that everyone possesses the potential to craft beautiful, meaningful pieces. Whether you're a seasoned creative or taking your first steps, my classes offer a progressive approach. Choose a class based on your preferred skill level, or maybe the tools you will get to use and the type of jewellery you want to create. STATEMENT/ WIDE SILVER RING CLASS - Make a solid silver band. If you have taken an intermediate class already, you may like to challenge yourself to make two!

WORKSHOPS

FREESTYLE RING/ BROOCH/ NECKLACE - 5/10 WEEK WORKSHOPS - Learn the basics of silver jewellery making and design and apply them to a piece you will design from scratch. You can plan to make whatever you want with a budget of materials, isn't that exciting! 

5 WEEK IS NOW LIVE/ 10 WEEK - THIS IS NOW LIVE WITH SPACES FOR SUMMER

INDIVIDUAL OR SMALL GROUP SPECIALIST LESSONS - Book the workshop and/or your jeweller's time as a half-day or full-day session. You may come with specific ideas of something you want to learn and master or a project you want to work on and have assistance with.

WAX CARVING A SILVER RING - 2 SESSIONS 2-3 WEEKS APART- A popular process of making jewellery using candles and carving tools. The outcome could be a chunky and sculptural ring or maybe an intricate and detailed one. This one isn't as easy as it could sound though! Are you ready for a challenge?
